Job Description:

As a Junior Grader, your role is integral to the efficient handling of all grain cargo that arrives and departs from our weighbridge. You will be responsible for the precise administration of grain products, ensuring that all processes adhere to industry regulations and standards. This position requires a meticulous eye for detail, a strong sense of responsibility, and a commitment to maintaining the highest levels of accuracy and quality in grain grading.

Key Responsibilities:

• Grain Grading & Quality Control:
  • Conduct grain grading with precision, adhering strictly to established regulations and standards to ensure the highest quality of grain is maintained.
  • Report any discrepancies or issues related to grain quality to the direct Supervisor, ensuring prompt resolution and compliance with grading rules.
• Cargo Handling & Administration:
  • Oversee the handling of all incoming and outgoing grain cargo at the weighbridge, ensuring that all documentation and records are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Maintain accurate tracking of stock control cards, ensuring that all movements of grain products are properly documented and accounted for.
• Client Services & Communication:
  • Manage client services by ensuring all processes are in place to prevent the escalation of client complaints, providing exceptional service and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Act as a GWK ambassador, fostering positive relationships with clients and colleagues, and contributing to a collaborative and supportive team environment.
• Equipment Maintenance & Compliance:
  • Ensure that all grading equipment is up to standard, well-maintained, and calibrated where applicable, to ensure accurate grading results.
  • Assist with the administrative functions related to security, health, and safety aspects, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.

Requirements:

• Educational Qualifications:
  • A Grade 12 certificate is required.
• Experience & Skills:
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in grain grading or a related field.
  • Completion of a Grain Grading course is highly advantageous.
  • Computer literacy is essential, with proficiency in relevant software and systems.
  • A valid Code 8 Driver’s License is required.
  • Must have a clear criminal record and demonstrate a high level of integrity and reliability.
• Personal Attributes:
  • Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Responsible and punctual, with a strong commitment to accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent administration skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, contributing positively to the overall success of the department.
