Job Description:

BUCO Strijdompark is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented End Controller to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our receiving and dispatch operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the final stage of the supply chain within the store, ensuring that goods are accurately picked, dispatched, and accounted for. Key Responsibilities:

• Accurate Receiving and Dispatching: Ensure that all goods received and dispatched from the store match the accompanying documentation. Your role is critical in preventing discrepancies and ensuring that inventory levels are maintained accurately.
• Precise Order Fulfillment: Focus on the careful picking and dispatching of goods that are scheduled to leave the store, ensuring that only the correct items are sent out. You will also be responsible for making sure that stock remaining in the store is correctly accounted for and not mistakenly dispatched.
• Cement Inventory Management: Continuously monitor and balance the cement stock to ensure that inventory levels are accurate at all times. Your vigilance will help prevent stock shortages or surpluses, contributing to efficient stock management.
• Handling of Returns: Thoroughly check all returned goods and ensure they are properly returned to the store’s inventory. This includes verifying that returns are not left unattended at the door but are promptly processed and stored.
• Maintaining Work Area Cleanliness: Keep all work areas, including the yard and warehouse, neat and tidy. A clean work environment is essential for maintaining safety and efficiency in operations.
• Accurate Yard Audits: Conduct regular yard audits to ensure that all stock is accurately recorded and accounted for in the store’s inventory system. Your attention to detail will help maintain inventory integrity and prevent losses.
• Supervisory Support: Provide guidance and supervisory support to General Assistants, helping to coordinate their tasks and ensure that they are performed efficiently. While you do not have direct disciplinary authority, you play a key role in fostering a productive work environment.
• Reporting and Communication: Report any instances of misconduct, discrepancies, or operational issues to store management. Clear and timely communication is essential in maintaining the store’s operational standards.
• Security and Compliance: Ensure that no stock leaves the store without being properly paid for and that the correct items are dispatched to customers. Your role is vital in safeguarding the store’s assets and ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Upholding Company Values: Actively promote and uphold BUCO’s company values through your work and interactions with customers and colleagues. Your professionalism and commitment to these values will enhance the store’s reputation and contribute to a positive workplace culture.

Requirements:

• Educational Qualifications:
  • Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
• Experience:
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably within the retail or building materials industry.
  • Knowledge of building materials is advantageous and will be beneficial in managing stock accurately.
• Skills:
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Keen attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and precision.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Basic supervisory skills with the ability to guide and support junior staff.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and stock control procedures.
  • Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting and moving goods.
